It has an array of white buttons comprising a QWERTY-style keyboard, joystick pad, and seven function keys. Version 1 (released in April 2000) had a power slide switch on the side, which was later replaced in Version 2, by an software On/Off/Standby via the “Esc”\\ key. The space saved was used for a manual reset button where the\\ slide switch use to be. **Hardware Specification** ^ Main Processor: | 32 bit, 11 MHz Hitachi H8S/2246 | ^ Coprocessor: |Atmel AT90S2313, 4 MHz | ^ RAM:| 256 Kb, extendible via Expansion slot | ^ Flash disk:| 512 Kb, extendible via Expansion slot | ^ LCD display: |160x100 dots, 59x40 mm, 4 level grayscale | ^ RF transceiver: |RF2915 | ^ Expansion cartridge slot:| 68-pin | ^ PC connection socket:| RS232 serial port | ^ Size: | 5.7" x 2.8" x 0.86" | ^ Weight: |4.3 oz | **RF Communication Features:** ^Frequency: |902-928 MHz | ^Number of channels: |30 digital channels | ^Communication Rate: |19200 bps each channel. | ^Transmission and Receiving Range: |150 ft indoor, 300 ft outdoor (environment dependent) | ^Max. on-line Cybiko units: |3000 (100 units on each of 30 channels) | =====Model 1 vs Model 2===== The Cybiko classic Version 1 (Top yellow) had a hardware switch on the side of the unit. //(Click image for larger photo)// ======Supporting Documents====== * Functional Block Diagram * Cybiko Classic * Cybiko Classic V2 extra circuitry: ClassicV2Circuit * Cybiko Classic Expansion port pinout see Memory Expansion Unit * RF2915 application note * PLLatinum 1.2 GHz Frequency Synthesizer for RF Personal Communications * ATMEL 90S2313 Co-processor specifications * ATMEL AT45DB041A Data Flash specifications * 2.8Mb * HD66421 * CMOS SRAM Chip * Flash Memory Chip for V2 * 1.4MHz, Single Cell DC/DC Converter, this is labled as D10 on V1, part placement is the same on V2 of the classic. * Micropower Step-Up DC/DC Converter labled D9 on V1 in same place on V2 *(BC847C) General Purpose Transistors NPN Silicon (used for VT2,VT3,VT5,VT8-10,VT12 in classic V1) * Low power clock/calendar by Phillips ======Supporting Software====== * - Factory reset a UK Classic, see also alteringbootuptext * ======Photos====== * Side-by-side view of the keyboard layouts Classic Vs Extreme * Backside of Cybiko circuit board * Front of Cybiko circuit board * Circuit board showing contact points for Keypad * Keypad with LCD and running API cybiko/classichardware.txt Last modified: 2009/11/27 17:54by 127.0.0.1
